Hand pumps have an important place in marine and yacht hydraulics.

The Micropac PMP pump unit offers an anodised alloy and stainless steel external package for an extended service life for use on mineral oil. This Micropac pump was developed for OEM’s requiring a high level of corrosion resistance and good value.

Who specifies the Micropac PMP 700 bar integral corrosion resistant hand pump?

Typically, OEM customers who might have used the Enerpac/Power Team/Hi-Force 700 bar integral hand pump and reservoir but require much enhanced corrosion resistance but at a very keen price. This unit does also offer a base mounting option to provide industry standard centres.

The unit is used worldwide in a merchant marine safety critical application as just one long-term application. Non return valves are poppet and soft seat for very low leakage and reliability. The unit is “fit and forget.” The design provides confidence that after 5 years unused, the unit will prime immediately by virtue of its soft seat check valve and the hard chromed 316 stainless piston rod running in a CW307G bronze bearing will not have sized. The handle mechanism is also 316 stainless steel.

What are the basic features of the Micropac PMP hand pump?

Our Micropac PMP series hand pump offers an integrated hand pump and reservoir providing 5.8cc per double stroke to 700 bar and a 450cc reservoir capacity. Materials are anodised alloy 6082T6 and 316 stainless. A hold/release valve and pressure relief valve are options.

Our hard chrome plated 316 stainless piston rod running in a bronze bearing offers long term corrosion resistance above or below deck. The use of anodised aluminium alloy and stainless 316 provides a very cost effective pump unit, extended service life in harsh environments and low mass.

What special variants are possible at low cost on the Micropac PMP hand pump?

Different reservoir volumes are possible provided there are numbers. We can integrate our pressure gauge connection block to allow easy mounting of a gauge and also allow for auxiliary connections like a Minimess connector as shown in the photographs.

A four way directional valve to 400 bar can be fitted.

When would customers NOT use the Micropac PMP pump?

If you require a component hand pump without a reservoir, look at MW series unit. If you are running on water, glycols or skydrol phosphate ester, look at the MW series unit. If you simply require a 316 stainless pump, then we suggest specifying one. Anodised 6082T6 marine grade aluminium is widely used for marine applications, but sometimes 316 stainless is the correct material.
